So is a HOTAS still worth it and I just switch controls whenever I need to go on the ground? also just in general it's a iffy, I keep hearing these issues about HOTAS setups, all the models are old and outdated, they are too expensive, they require a lot of effort to set up, and you need to grease the stick, and I'm divided, is it really worth it? should I really get a setup for a game I might abandon and the setup may be made impractical by a coming expansion early next year, plus the endless jabs about build quality and the controls being sticky, is all the maintenance and breaking actually worth the immersion and feeling? and at a loss of precision? If you say I should then I want to keep on topic, I am not a pro, I'm a causal person, I just want a mid tier priced HOTAS set that functions well, if it's a slight difference it doesn't matter, if it can't support Elite with the buttons, that's an actual concern, slight difference in tension do not matter here. Elite has it's new expansion Odyssey on the horizon, which will allow the game to be played on foot. I made a similar post and left with more questions so I'm adding more context, I am a Elite player with an interest in a HOTAS, in the actual game I've spent about 1 Week and 5 days, so I'm rather new, and I keep hearing about a HOTAS, more immersion you feel the guns with the pull of the trigger, and to say it's enticing is a understatement, so I need help.
